چکیده
The influence of the initial phase fundamental and subharmonic waves on resonance is investigated for an incompressible boundary layer with zero adverse pressure gradients. Parabolized stability equation analyses are carried out various combinations phases waves. amplification higher modes found to depend strongly phases, this dependence consistent observations from previous experimental studies. There exists a certain combination that leads or anti-resonance condition (i.e., maximum minimum growth, respectively). For all appears be function single parameter represents difference between in resonant interaction depends rather than individual wave. In downstream direction, changes value eventually converges specific approximately ranging 80° 90°, regardless difference. This transient behavior does not start until wave enters parametric stage, which yields double-exponential growth. qualitative characteristic remains unchanged frequencies spanwise wavenumbers as well gradients studied. method analysis results contribute physical foundations controlling boundary-layer transition dominated by resonance.

Influence of Afterbody and Boundary Layer on Cavitating Flow
The characteristics of a cavitation water tunnel test setup and the experiments of cavitation around different models are given in this paper. Models of test are formed from combination of head and variable length afterbody. The experiments are performed initially with the smooth head and then with the roughened head. Cavitation initiates both in the wake and after the head. If the nose of mode...

Numerical simulations demonstrate that laminar breakdown in a boundary layer induced by the secondary instability of two-dimensional Tollmien-Schlichting waves to threedimensional subharmonic disturbances need not take the conventional lambda vortex/highshear layer path. متن کاملInfluence of Heterogeneity on Rayleigh Wave Propagation in an Incompressible Medium Bonded Between Two Half-Spaces
The present investigation deals with the propagation of Rayleigh wave in an incompressible medium bonded between two half-spaces. Variation in elastic parameters of the layer is taken linear form. The solution for layer and half-space are obtained analytically. Frequency equation for Rayleigh waves has been obtained. It is observed that the heterogeneity and width of the incompressible medium h...
متن کاملEffect of Initial Stress on Propagation of Love Waves in an Anisotropic Porous Layer
In the present paper, effect of initial stresses on the propagation of Love waves has been investigated in a fluid saturated, anisotropic, porous layer lying in welded contact over a prestressed, non-homogeneous elastic half space. The dispersion equation of phase velocity has been derived. It has been found that the phase velocity of Love waves is considerably influenced by porosity and anisot...
